EXACT SOLUTIONS FOR FLOW OF A SISKO FLUID IN PIPE
Authors
Abstract:
By means of He's homotopy perturbation method (HPM) an approximate solution of velocity eld is derived for the ow in straight pipes of non-Newtonian uid obeying the Sisko model. The nonlinear equations governing the ow in pipe are for- mulated and analyzed, using homotopy perturbation method due to He. Furthermore, the obtained solutions for velocity eld is graphically sketched and compared with Newtonian uid to show the accuracy of this work. Volume ux, average velocity and pres- sure gradient are also calculated. Results reveal that the proposed method is very eective and simple for solving nonlinear equations like non-Newtonian uids.

full textMathematical modelling of Sisko fluid flow through a stenosed artery
In the present study, the nonlinear model of non-Newtonian blood flow in cosine-shape stenosed elastic artery is numerically examined. The model is carried out for axisymmetric, two-dimensional and fully developed blood flow. The vessel wall is assumed to be have time-dependent radius that is important factor for study of blood flow. The cosine-shape stenosis convert to rigid artery by using a ...
full textExact Coherent Structures in Pipe Flow: Travelling Wave Solutions
Three-dimensional travelling wave solutions are found for pressure-driven fluid flow through a circular pipe. They consist of three well-defined flow features streamwise rolls and streaks which dominate and streamwise-dependent wavy structures. The travelling waves can be classified by the m-fold rotational symmetry they possess about the pipe axis with m = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 solutions identif...
full textFalkner–Skan Boundary Layer Flow of a Sisko Fluid
In this paper, we investigate the steady boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian fluid, represented by a Sisko fluid, over a wedge in a moving fluid. The equations of motion are derived for boundary layer flow of an incompressible Sisko fluid using appropriate similarity variables. The governing equations are reduced to a single third-order highly nonlinear ordinary differential equation in the ...
full textConvective Flow of Sisko Fluid over a Bidirectional Stretching Surface
The present investigation focuses the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the steady three-dimensional Sisko fluid driven by a bidirectional stretching sheet. The modeled partial differential equations are reduced to coupled ordinary differential equations by a suitable transformation. The resulting equations are solved numerically by the shooting method using adaptive Runge Kutta algorit...
